Incredible beaches

El mar Menor is a salt water lake joined to the Med in the region of Murcia. It's ecology and nature makes it very special and it's the biggest salt lake in Europe. The shore of the Mar Menor has a succession of sandy beaches. Los Nietos is a famous summer place for locals. Near the small town of Los Belones are the beaches of Islas Menores and Mar de Cristal. Then nearer La manga are the beaches Playa Honda, Playa Paraiso and Playa de Los Alemanes.

On the Med side of the Mar Menor there are many quite sandy beaches In the South is one of the jewels of the region:El Parque Regional de Calblanque.Here you'll find wild beaches and small coves amongst high chalk cliffs. Towards Cabo de Palos ther are quiet beaces such asCala Flores and the Levante beaches El  Barco Hundido, or Amoladeras y Marchamalo. Then all along La Manga there are continuous beaches all the way to San Javier.

At the end of La Manga where the road finishes you'll find Veneciola Here you'll find empty beaches to swim in a very natural location The clear air and sea are home to wonderful birdlife including Flamingos, Avocets and Egrets.
